Child's Progress
Even before your child commences and in readiness for their taster session you will have provided information about your child which will have been collated on to our enhanced planning to support his / her first visit. See how we help your child to progress below:
- We ask you to complete a short information sheet detailing your child's likes / dislikes and family background, to enable us to get a snapshot of your child before they arrive in our setting
- We record all observation through Tapestry, an online observation tool, which enables us to share your child's observations and likewise you, as a parent, can also add observations and share information with us
- Your child will be monitored and assessed throughout the day, in all areas of their development, and this data provides us with the next steps for your child. We follow a 'Planning in the Moment' approach within nursery, which involves staff interacting with children as they persue their own interests, and assessing and moving the learning on in that moment. This is further supported and extended daily with small group work focussing in communication and positive intereractions.
- Parents' Evenings take place twice a year, in line with Wood Fold Primary School, and we have three school reports per year which will provide you with updates on your child's progress from all data collected in the setting. We work closely with the Reception team, building positive relationships amongst staff and the children who may becoming through to our Reception classes.
