Y4K 11/10/24

Y4K had a fantastic time visiting Cadbury World this week. We enjoyed learning about the history of chocolate and how chocolate is made. This helped consolidate our learning about how the cocoa grown in Ghana becomes a chocolate bar! We enjoyed writing our names in chocolate and experienced an interactive journey as a cocoa bean!

In maths this week, we have been learning how to round numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000 by finding the multiples on either side of the number and seeing which it is closest to. We noticed that using our number bonds really helped, so keep practicing your quick fire answers for number bonds to 10 and applying these to 100 and 1000. For example, if you know that 3 and 7 make ten then you know 30 + 70 makes 100, and 300 + 700 makes 1000. Seeking out these connections really strengthens our mathematical understanding.

In science, we have started to look at the digestive system and the journey food takes into, through and out of the body.
