We have had a wonderfully festive and hard working week!

We finally completed our painting of a landscape using perspective, inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci. The children worked very hard to colour wash the background before painting mountains using different tints. I was super impressed with the concentration put into sketching and carefully paintings the foreground images.
On Monday afternoon, we walked to St Wilfrid's church to practise for our Christmas performance on the Tuesday evening. The Christmas Performance was amazing! We in with pride at the efforts and confidence the singing, acting and dancing of our Year 3 super stars.
On Tuesday morning, we were lucky enough to have a pantomime company come into school and perform a spectacular performance of Snow White. The children cheered and booed and joined in with all the "oh yes there is" responses.
Wednesday saw our final day of working in which the children impressed us hugely by writing an analysis question in History about how Prehistoric Britain changed and about the five food groups in Science. The efforts put into these writes were staggering!
On Thursday, it was party day! The children enjoyed a day filled with games, dancing, singing Christmas songs and spreading festive cheer. Some children also enjoyed a Christmas dinner for their lunch. It was delicious! We were also lucky enough to go to the grotto and meet Father Christmas! He was kind enough to give each of the children a present and spoke to them about how good they had been throughout the year. In the afternoon, the ice cream van pulled up on the car park to give every child and staff member a free ice cream, they were delightful to start the afternoon with.
Finally, on Friday, we had our pj and film day. Snug in their pjs and lounge wear, the children enjoyed a hot chocolate and cookie whilst colouring and watching a film. We were quite surprised when The Grinch showed up to wish us a terrible Grinchmas, however he was very funny!

We have had the most incredible first term in Y3G and I am so excited for the rest of the year working with such a wonderful and caring set of children.

Myself and Miss Oldfield would like to thank you for your kind cards and gifts and wish you all and very Merry Christmas and fantastic New Year!⭐️
