What an exciting week we've had in Year 4! Let's dive into all the wonderful things we've been up to!

This week in English, we continued reading our new book and followed the character of Rhianna through Chapters 1 and 2. We've been exploring her feelings and emotions, understanding her character better, and discussing how she navigates the challenges she faces. It's been a fantastic journey so far, and we're eager to see where the story takes us next!

In Maths, we've built upon our work on length and perimeter. We've tackled more complex problems by finding the missing lengths of shapes and then calculating their perimeter. We have also explored finding the perimeter of regular and irregular polygons, exploring the properties of them both. Everyone has shown great determination and problem-solving skills. Keep up the fantastic work!

Our new topic in History is the Romans, and we started by locating Italy on a map of Europe. We zoomed in to find the capital, Rome, and learned that Italy is in Europe, above the equator in the Northern Hemisphere, and has a Mediterranean climate.

In Science this week, we embarked on an exciting new topic. We conducted small investigations at our tables, examining a variety of animals. Through our observations, we discovered several methods to classify these animals based on their shared characteristics.

Thursday was lots of fun as we celebrated World Book Day! Everyone came dressed as their favourite characters, and we enjoyed a day full of fun activities celebrating all the fantastic books we love. It was a memorable day filled with creativity, laughter, and a shared love for reading. This week's homework is a carousel on History for revision, times tables practice to ensure we get that rapid recall, and spellings.

Have a lovely weekend!
