Y3G have had another awesome week!
I have been blown away by the incredible non-fiction texts that the children have produced about each layer that lies under the grounds surface. Imaginative headings and subheadings were used by all to create fact filled writing that was very enjoyable to read.
In Maths, there has been huge perseverance with fractions this week. Fractions are a very tricky topic to understand, but the children have been successful in finding fractions on a number line and comparing them.
Thursday was World Book Day! The class wowed us with their super comfy clothes, word based outfits and character costumes! Thank you to everyone at home for helping the children come to school in these different outfits to help celebrate the day. The children loved making a book worm mood board, exploring how and what they like to read. We even explored how reading makes us feel. The children also enjoyed creating their very own book arks and creating a doodle page to represent different books they have read.
We were lucky enough to have Alex and his associates from The Happy Smiles company in school on Thursday. They introduced us to a range of books based on inclusivity for all. The children asked thought provoking questions about the books, what it's like to be an author and about a range of disabilities featured in the books. It was an extremely inspirational session that the children (and staff) thoroughly enjoyed!
