We have had a very creative week this week!

On Monday, we do it used to practise threading a needle and tying a knot. After that, the children learnt how to do the over stitch! I was amazed at how quickly the children understood the sequence and well they demonstrated some wonderful stitching techniques.
In Science, we started looking at the different properties of rocks. The children felt and described igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks to compare what they are like. Next week, we will do an experiment looking at whether each type of rock is permeable or impermeable.
In Music, the children have been learning to play to recorder. It was lovely to see so much resilience in trying to keep in time with one another. The children have learnt to play a short sequence so far and had chances to perform it for one another.
Our story has been like a rollercoaster in English! Lokka the leopard, along with Selvi and Amir,  fell off a cliff! Although Selvi and Amir made a great escape, Lokka went missing! The children have explore how Selvi has felt whilst looking for Lokka and made predictions on what they think may happen next.
Today, we have designed our drawstring bags in DT. The children chosen which type of stitching they want to use and the colours they would like to dye the fabric. After that, together we dyed each piece of fabric with Brushko powdered and water to create colours and patterns fit for an explorer.
