What a week it’s been in Year 5! We’ve been super busy, and the children have impressed us with their hard work and enthusiasm. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
๐ Assessments
We kicked off the week with our Reading and Maths assessments, and WOW—what an effort the children put in! We’re so proud of how they tackled the challenge and showed just how much they’ve learned. A massive well done to everyone—you’ve all done brilliantly! ๐
๐ Geography
In Geography, we’ve been exploring the differences between polar regions and tundra regions. From icy landscapes to chilly plains, the children are becoming experts in understanding these unique environments. Ask them to tell you something they learned—you might just be surprised! โ๏ธ
๐งต Design Technology
Winter is coming, and we’re ready to stay warm! The class has been busy designing their very own winter hats, thinking carefully about style, materials, and how to make them cosy and functional. Next stop: the making stage. We can’t wait to see their creations come to life! ๐ฉ
โ Maths
Fractions were our focus this week, and let’s just say—it’s been a bit of a battle! But Year 5 have stuck with it and are really starting to get to grips with fractions now. From finding equivalents to converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions, their determination has been fantastic. Keep it up, everyone! ๐ช
As always, a huge well done to Year 5 for all their hard work this week. Have a lovely weekend everyone and we will see you on Monday ๐
