We have had a fantastic first week back in Year 4!
We've had an incredible start to our term, diving into new subjects and activities with enthusiasm and curiosity. Here's a summary of all the fun and learning we've experienced this week:
This week, we embarked on an exciting journey with our new book, 'Queen of Darkness.' This captivating story focuses on the legendary figure of Boudica. We've started exploring her character by finding evidence to understand her better. It’s been fascinating to uncover the layers of her personality and historical significance.
In Maths, we've continued our exploration of length and perimeter. Our focus has been on rectangles and rectilinear shapes, using problem-solving skills to find the missing lengths.
Our spotlight projects have come to an end, and this week, we evaluated our creations. It was amazing to see the innovative designs and the effort everyone put into their work. The evaluations helped us reflect on our design processes and the improvements we can make for future projects.
One of the highlights of our week was participating in a 2km run to raise money for Wigan Hospice. We had an absolute blast while contributing to a worthy cause. It was heartwarming to see everyone come together, showing great team spirit and determination.
Homework for the Week
To continue our learning journey at home, this week’s homework includes completing the learning postcard on Ancient Greeks. Additionally, children are encouraged to keep practicing their times tables to ensure rapid recall.
Great job, Year 4, on a fantastic first week back! Have a lovely weekend.
