This week in English, we have focused on using adverbial openers and expanded noun phrases to enhance our writing. To apply these skills, we wrote detailed setting descriptions about the feast before the battle, ensuring we incorporated powerful verbs and  rich vocabulary that engaged four of the senses.  The results were outstanding!

In Maths, we continued our work on fractions, where we practiced converting fractions from mixed numbers to improper fractions and vice versa. We also learned how to add fractions, making sure we only add the numerators. Additionally, we’ve been making great progress with our times tables—keep up the fantastic effort!

In Science, we explored classification keys and used them to identify and categorise various animals. It’s been fascinating discovering how these keys help us make sense of the natural world. We have started to look at habitats and micro-habitats and think about why habitats change and the impact this might have on living things.

Our History lessons took us back to the days of the Romans, where we examined their impressive armour and weapons. We discussed how these gave them such a significant advantage and contributed to their success as a powerful empire.

To round off the week, we had lots of fun on Friday crafting beautiful Mother's Day cards—we hope you love them as much as we enjoyed making them!
Homework for this week includes:
  • DT carousel quiz
  • Times tables practice
  • Spellings
 Have a wonderful weekend!
