This week we concluded our topic, ‘Toys from the past’. We read ‘Paper Dolls’ by Julia Donaldson in drawing club and took our own paper dolls on different adventures. The children have all finished making their peg dolls now and have been evaluating them. We have discussed some of the ways toys have changed over time, including the materials they are made from, and ordered pictures of roller-skates. We have explored different materials in and around the classroom and thought about why different materials are suited to their job, for instance, windows are made from glass so that we can see through them.
In Maths, we have been exploring time. We explored how many things we can do in a minute, practised the days of the week and ordered events. We have been looking at the way that the children have changed over time, using their baby photos. We are now beginning to explore the numbers 9 and 10.
We had a very exciting day today, this morning we played parachute games as a treat for filling our pompom jar. This afternoon, we took part in a running challenge with a special visitor which left us all exhausted and ready for the weekend!
Well done to all our award winners this week, we are very proud of you.
Have a lovely weekend 😊
