Date: 24th Jan 2025 @ 4:13pm

We have had another busy but very exciting week in Year 2! The children have worked extremely hard and produced some lovely pieces of work.

In English, we have continued to read the text 'The Bakers Boy'. We discussed how Will felt when the guards would not let him into the palace and the reasons behind this. We are looking forward to reading the next chapter!

In DT, we had a great time tasting lots of declious cakes! We evaluated the taste, appearance, texture and smell of each cake and have been thinking about what type of cake we would like to made.

In History, we revisited what we have learnt so far about 'The Great Fire of London'. We then learnt that the fire lasted for 5 days! Using visuals we explored how the fire continued to spread on each day and how people tried to escape.

The children in Year 2 are really enjoying their new reading groups. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the books are returned on time. There will be one night a week when the children are without a reading book as this the night the books will be changed. However, the children could use this opportunity to read their library book on this night.

As a lovely end to the week, Year 2 were the proud winners of the platinum lunchbox. We are looking forward to enjoying our prize on Monday.

Have a lovely weekend! 😊
