Date: 24th Jan 2025 @ 4:10pm

This week we began learning about the Chinese Lunar New Year. We read ‘The Great Race’ in Drawing Club and have talked about the different animals which make up the Chinese Zodiac. We know that 2025 will be the year of the snake. After ‘spring cleaning’ our home to prepare for New Year celebrations the children were inspired to start making decorations such as lanterns and dragons in the lucky colours red and gold.

In Maths we have been exploring mass and capacity and comparing different amounts.
We made our superhero dippers and the children enjoyed eating them for snack on Wednesday.
We finished our week with a visit from a Police Officer – ‘Sergeant Parkinson’. The children loved finding out about Sergeant Parkinson’s job and all the things that police officers do to help us. They thought of questions to ask him, and enjoyed testing out his equipment!

It has been lovely to welcome parents into our phonics lessons this week. We hope you found it useful.

Well done to our star of the week, super reader and Dojo winner, we are very proud of you.

Have a lovely weekend 😊
