Hi everyone! ๐
What a brilliant week we’ve had in Year 5! It’s been full of hands-on learning, creativity, and even a touch of Shakespearean drama. Here's a little update on all the exciting things we've been up to:
We’ve been investigating thermal conductors and insulators this week! The children have explored which materials keep things warm or cool and have been using their scientific skills to group and test different objects. Who knew Science could make you feel so cool! ๐ง
In DT, we’ve been mastering new sewing techniques. The Blanket stitch was our focus this week, and the children have been stitching like pros! Everyone is working so hard to create neat, sturdy designs—it’s amazing to see their creativity come to life with a needle and thread. ๐งต
Our writing skills have been shining as the children took on the role of April from The Last Bear. The diary entries they wrote were incredible—so heartfelt and detailed. I'm so proud of how well they’ve captured her voice and emotions.
The children have also been diving into the oceans of the world this week. We’ve explored their names, locations, and why they’re so important to our planet. From the chilly Arctic to the warm Indian Ocean, the class is turning into a group of budding oceanographers! ๐
Drama was epic this week! The children stepped into the shoes of characters from Macbeth, and let me tell you, we’ve got some seriously talented actors in Year 5. Everyone gave it their all—and had so much fun doing it. ๐งโ๏ธ๐ก๏ธ
It’s been another wonderful week in Year 5. As always, a huge well done to everyone for their hard work and enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see what next week brings!
Have a lovely weekend! ๐
