Wow what a festive week we have had in Reception!
The children have made Christmas cards for their families, wooden baubles for their trees and some have finished decorating their Christmas stockings.
On Tuesday, the pantomime Snow White came to school. The children had so much fun and joined in with the production. There was certainly lots of shouting and laughing especially when some of the teachers were chosen to get up for a dance off – (not me fortunately!)
Thursday was our party day! We started the day with some dancing in the classroom and showing off our party outfits. Then we went to the grotto to meet the big man himself, Father Christmas. The children were so excited to meet him and his elves and they were lucky to all receive a present! They are most certainly all on the ‘good’ list. The children then had a party in the hall with the other Reception class where they played festive games and did lots of dancing. We then had a visit from the ice-cream man so the children queued up at the van, and they all had and cold treat- just perfect to cool them down after all the dancing! Father Christmas even left them some gifts for the classroom under the tree which they opened and have already put in the classroom ready for the new year!
Today was a ‘wind down’ day. The children enjoyed films, games, colouring and most importantly hot chocolate.
So that marks the end of a wonderful Autumn term.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Haelthy New Year.
