Wow what a festive week we have had in Reception!
We started the week with a games morning after Elvis (the elf) delivered us some new board games. A special visitor came to play too as a reward for filling our pompom jar again!
The children made Christmas cards for their families, wooden baubles for their trees and some have finished decorating their Christmas stockings.
On Tuesday, the pantomime Snow White came to school. The children had so much fun and joined in with the production. There was certainly lots of shouting and laughing especially when some of the teachers were chosen to get up for a dance off – (not me fortunately!)
Thursday was party day. We started the day with a catwalk show where everyone showed off their party outfit. We all visited Father Christmas and everyone received a gift. We then sat down together to enjoy a delicious Christmas lunch. In the afternoon we played party games in the hall and were excited to find presents for our class under the tree. As if that wasn’t enough, we rounded the afternoon off with a visit to an ice-cream van!
Today was a ‘wind down’ day in school – sadly the children didn’t get the memo, so there has been lots more fun, including a talent show, dancing and yoga.
So that marks the end of a wonderful Autumn term.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
