We have come to the end of Year 1’s first half term! Our week has been full of wonderful learning which has included how to use a Part-Whole model in maths by adding together the parts to find the whole. The children have enjoyed using the part-whole model with counters to support their learning and to demonstrate their understanding.
In English, the children have completed their story retell of Superworm and the children remembered to use capital letters, finger spaces, full stops and used some amazing adjectives! Well done Year 1, you are successful learners!
In Art the children have completed their final piece of work in the style of Wassily Kandinsky. Their masterpiece abstract art paintings will be displayed proudly in our Year 1 shared area.
Year 1 have also enjoyed a walk around Standish this week, the children were able to identify the human and physical features of Standish and talk about the many amenities that Standish has. The children listened and walked carefully whilst they were out and we are very proud of how sensible and safe they were throughout the walk.
Year 1 have completed their term at forest school and next term they will be having P.E lessons on a Monday and a Friday afternoon.
Finally, all the Year 1 team would like to wish everybody a wonderful half term break and we look forward to seeing everybody back safe and well for our Autumn 2 term.
