Hi everyone,
We’ve had another fantastic week in Year 6, building on our learning and diving deeper into some exciting topics. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
English:
This week, we focused on writing setting descriptions of Camp Green Lake, inspired by Holes. The children worked hard to bring the harsh, dry landscape to life through vivid imagery and powerful vocabulary. Their descriptions captured the desolate and unforgiving nature of the setting brilliantly – well done, everyone!

Maths:
In Maths, we’ve continued exploring ratio, with a focus on scaling. The children have been applying their knowledge to solve a variety of real-world problems, including scaling recipes and models. They’re showing fantastic progress and determination!

Design Technology:
As part of our healthy eating unit, we’ve been exploring and analyzing healthy recipes. The children looked at how different ingredients contribute to a balanced diet and began brainstorming ideas for their own healthy creations – we’re excited to see their designs come to life soon!

Geography:
Our comparison of Snowdonia, Ghana, and the Amazon Basin continues. This week, we focused on climate and biomes, looking at how weather patterns and ecosystems vary across these regions. The children have been fascinated by the unique challenges and features of each area.

It’s been another productive and engaging week – the children have worked so hard, and we’re so proud of their efforts! Have a wonderful weekend, and we’ll see you next week for more learning adventures.
Have a lovely and restful weekend,
