We have continued to explore the topic of superheroes this week. We were delighted to have a visit from a paramedic, who told us about their job and how they help people. We watched an episode of Bananaman, and have based our Drawing Club sessions around this; designing a superhero base and a machine to transform Bananaman among other things. The children have continued to explore the numbers 0-5 through songs and activities to deepen their understanding.

We completed our Mondrian paintings. I have been really impressed with the care the children have taken and they way they are beginning to talk about their work. Several children have taken this learning into continuous provision which has been lovely to see. We have also been learning about what makes a balanced diet and different food groups in preparation to design and make a healthy snack for a superhero. We have thought about food hygiene and how to wash our hands thoroughly. We carried out an experiment to see how far glitter travelled from hand to hand to demonstrate how germs can spread.

In RE the children shared books which are special to them and in PE they have been moving like the Hungry Caterpillar.

We had a surprise visit from Spiderman today which was an exciting end to the week.

It has been lovely to welcome parents into our phonics lessons this week and we look forward to seeing more of you next week.

Well done to our star of the week and Dojo winner, we are very proud of you.

Have a lovely weekend 😊
