We have had another busy week in Year 2 this week, with lots of exciting learning taking place.
In Maths, we have continued to work through addition and subtraction strategies and have been revisiting our 2's, 5s and 10s.
In English, we have continued with 'Queen Victoria's Bathing Machine'. The children created a plan as they will be writing a retell of the story next week. We really enjoyed reading the story and learning how the bathing machine worked.
In Geography, we continued to explore different types of settlements. In addition, we looked at landmarks, specifically London landmarks. The children sorted pictures into physical and human features.
In Science, we looked at the life cycle of a human. We explored the meanings of growth and reproduction and ordered the pictures of a baby, toddler, child, teenager, adult and elderly person.
The children enjoyed another muddy and wet session of forest school this week. As the weather is getting colder, please ensure the children have appropriate warm clothing and footwear to wear in the forest.
This week, as a school, we have celebrated 'Anti-Bullying Week'. The theme for this year's 'Anti-Bullying Week' was Choose Respect, so our activities and assemblies this week have been linked to this theme. On Tuesday, we all wore odd socks to celebrate that we are all different and unique.
Well done for all your hard work this week Y2M.
Have a lovely weekend! 😊
