We have had another fantastic week in Year 2!
During our English sessions, we have continued to read our non-fiction text about The Great Fire of London. We have been developing our skills when finding and copying information from the text. We have also been summarising the facts from the book.
In Maths, we have been continuing to work on multiplying and dividing by 2. We then used this skill to help us when doubling and halving numbers. We are looking forward to multiplying and dividing by 5 and 10 next week.
In Art, we have started our new topic based on collage. We enjoyed learning about the key artist Kurt Schwitters. We learnt about the techniques he used when creating his art work and the different resources that he used. We then had a great time creating our artist on a page, in the style of Kurt Schwitters.
On Thursday, we had the most incredible time in the forest! Despite it being cold, we wrapped up warm and had lots of fun exploring the different areas in the outdoor garden. We completed Miss Bullen's challenge, which was to create a den using natural materials. We also learnt how to tie knots using rope. We can't wait for our Forest school session next week!
Today in Computing, the children worked methodically to create a game on Scratch Junior. They were able to create an arrow pad which they used to move a character up, down, left and right.
Have a lovely weekend! 😊
