This week we continued our topic ‘toys from the past’. We compared small dolls from the past with the small dolls in our classroom then the children designed peg dolls for our Small World area. I have been very impressed with the children’s ingenuity and the way that they have translated their drawings into a 3D form, bringing their characters to life. We watched an episode of Bagpuss in drawing club, which was very nostalgic for the adults in the room! The children enjoyed designing a way for Emily to find lost things, and they drew lovely pictures of Bagpuss. Writing is going from strength to strength and I have been very proud of the way the children are challenging themselves, showing a ‘can do’ attitude.
In Maths, we have compared length and height. The children have taken their learning into their play demonstrating excellent understanding of the taught concepts.
Wood Fold music day has been a real highlight of the week and we were blown away by the amazing costumes the children wore. We had a fun-filled day which included a singing assembly with Mrs Jones and lots of fun music activities. RH definitely have good rhythm!
As we approach half term, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your support over the last 6 weeks and wish you a very happy half term.
Well done to all our award winners this week, we are very proud of you.
Have a lovely half term. 😊
