This week rounded we off our dinosaur topic, thinking about the different things that dinosaurs eat and comparing them to animals today.
We have been trying to remember the names of all the different people in school who help us, and the children did some lovely drawings to accompany this.
Tuesday was a very exciting day. In PE the large apparatus came out for the first time as the children extended their climbing skills.
RH have been working hard to fill a jar with pompoms since the start of the school year. When everyone is working together as a team they earn a pompom and when it is full they choose a treat. After much deliberation, the children decided that they would like to visit the art bus on the Key Stage 2 playground. We had a wonderful time making leaf dinosaur pictures. This followed on from the pictures that the children made in the forest with 'found materials' on Monday which they wanted to create in a format that they could keep.
In Maths we have been copying and completing simple patterns and exploring patterns in the classroom and outdoor area. In English we have continued to explore the traditional tale Little Red Riding Hood, innovating ideas for aspects of the story.
It was lovely to see the children dressed in bright colours on Thursday. They all created a badge depicting something about them or that they enjoy doing.
We have been thinking about our 'INSPIRE' target to be proud of ourselves and others this week, with a particular focus on lining up quietly and moving sensibly around school and stopping and listening quickly in class. Well done to our Star of the Week and Dojo winner this week, you have been excellent role models.
Have a lovely weekend ready for the last week of this half term – hasn’t that come round quickly!
