Happy New Year!

We are absolutely thrilled to be back in school and have already jumped straight into some new learning. 

This week, we introduced our reading scheme 'Little Wandle' to the children. For 6 days, they will read a chapter at a time with a teacher in school, on the 6th day, they will then take that book home and will have a week to read it, it will then be replaced with a new book and so on. 

In English, we have started our new book 'The Baker's Boy and the Great Fire of London'. The children are already excited to see where this story will go. 

In Maths, we have explored 2D and 3D shapes. We have been looking at sides, faces and vertices. 

In Geography, we finished our unit on Cities and Settlements by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of living in a city. 

In DT, we began our unit on food. We discussed healthy and unhealthy food choices, the importance of a healthy diet and we explored the 'Eat Well' plate. 

Y2H collected 43 class points, crowning us the winners! Well done my superstars.
