It was lovely to welcome the children back to school and hear all about their holiday adventures. We were surprised to come back to snow, and the children have enjoyed playing outside.

We have started a new topic about superheroes this week, which the children are enjoying. In Drawing Club we based our learning on the book ‘Supertato’ which has inspired lots of superhero roleplay! We have also begun to find out about real life superheroes such as police officers, medical professionals and other people who help us in the community.

In Maths we have introduced and explored the concept of zero, which the children have represented in different ways.

We have learned about the artist Piet Mondrian and explored primary colours in our art lessons. The children have experimented with painting colours and lines in preparation for creating their own artwork in the style of Mondrian.
