Another week completed in a very busy term!
This week, there has been lots of new learning and the children have worked really hard.

In maths, we have been continuing to work through our addition and subtraction unit. The children were finding the most efficient way to add three 1-digit numbers. They were encouraged to use a number bond to ten within the calcaulation to simplify their workings.

in English, we have continued to read and answer reading questions related to 'Queen Victoria's Bathing Machine'. This week, the children were asked to predict what they thought Prince Albert's invention was.

In Geography, we started a new unit of work, 'Settlements and Cities'. We explored different types of settlements, such as a hamlet, a village and a town and wrote comparative sentences.

In Art, we looked at architectural artist Stephen Wiltshire. The children gathered facts and pictures and presented them in their sketch book on an artist research page.

The children also had a workshop on 'Feelings' delivered by the Life Education team. The children explored what our bodies need to stay physically and emotionally healthy and they also met Harold the Giraffe who talked about the importance of friendships.

This week, the children had another Forest School session. Although it was cold, the children had a great time exploring the forest.

Next week, to celebrate 'Anti-Bullying Week' we will be wearing odd socks on Tuesday 12th November. It is an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique.
