What a fantastic week it's been for our Year 1 students! Here's a snapshot of the exciting activities and learning adventures we've embarked on:
English: Sequencing 'Meerkat Mail' This week, our little readers have continued diving into the delightful world of "Meerkat Mail." They worked on creating a story map to sequence the events, which not only enhances their comprehension skills but also brings the story to life in a visual way.
Maths: Counting On Within 20 In Maths, we've been focusing on counting on within 20. The children have been practicing their counting skills through using number lines and ten-frames.
Science: Investigation into Temperature Our young scientists conducted an investigation into temperature. They learned about different temperatures, how to measure them, and the effects of freezing temperature on water.
Design and Technology (DT): Designing a Food Salad Creativity was in full bloom during our DT sessions. The children put their designing hats on and drew their very own food salads. They thought about different ingredients and how to combine them to make a healthy and delicious dish.
Library Visit: Author James Lettice We were thrilled to visit the library this week where we had the pleasure of hearing from the author James Lettice. He shared stories and insights, encouraging the love for books and storytelling in our children.
Thank you for your continued support. It's been a week filled with learning and creativity, and we can't wait for the adventures that next week will bring!
Best wishes, The Year 1 Team 📚🎨🔢
