We have had another brilliant week in Year 2, the children have worked so hard and demonstrated wonderful learning attitudes.

In English, the children explored opposing emotions when the fire was finally stopped. They discussed that some people would feel relieved because the fire can no longer spread, however some people would be devastated because they are now homeless and their belongings have been destroyed in the fire.

In Maths, we have started learning about money. We introduced different coins and notes to the children and then we looked at different ways that we can make the same amount.

In DT, we explored different utensils that we may use to make our cake. We looked at a peeler, grater, knife and juicer and discussed their uses. We also talked about food hygiene and the importance of washing our hands, tying our hair back, removing jewellery and wearing an apron.

This week, the children took part in some quizzes to showcase previously taught knowledge. They were absolutely brilliant and really impressed us with what they could remember.

We are really looking forward to Music Day, which will be taking place next Thursday 13th February. We can't wait to see how the children have chosen to dress up!

We hope you have a lovely and restful weekend.
