The weeks are getting busier and busier, the closer we get to Christmas!
In English, we have continued to read 'Daisy saves the Day'. Daisy has started work as a scullery maid for Miss Jessie and Miss Margaret. Their niece, Miss Mabel has come to stay and she is very friendly and polite, she even offered a book to Daisy from the bookshelf.
In Maths, we have been using the column method to add 2 two-digit numbers across a ten. The children have found this challenging so we have done lots of practicing.
In Science, we explored what an animal needs to survive. We discussed the need for water, food, air, shelter and sleep.
This week, we were also given the opportunity to visit Standish Library and take part in a workshop with local children's author, poet and illustrator Ray Douglas. The children had so much fun and some of them took away Ray's latest book 'Some Santa Stories and Christmas Rhymes'.
We have also had a little elf called Tinker McJingles in Year 2 this week, causing all sorts of mischief! I wonder what he will get up to next week!
Next Thursday 12th December is Christmas Jumper Day.
The children will also be performing their Christmas Production on Thursday and Friday next week. We can't wait for you to see it!
