Wow, what a week we have had in Year 1!
We have started our new story Superworm by Julia Donaldson in English and the children have been making predictions about the story and using adjectives to describe the characters.
In maths the children have been working hard to recognise the mathematical symbols for Greater than >, Less than < and Equal to = when comparing numbers within 10.
In Art we have been analysing the work of artist Wassily Kandinsky together, discussing what we can see in his abstract art such as the colours, shapes and what feelings the painting portrays.
In RE, we were very lucky to have a visit from Rev Holliday who talked to us about the beliefs of Christians.
The biggest adventure of this week has been our trip to Imagine that! The children all had an amazing day and we were so proud of them all. Our trip was full of scientific, fun and educational activities that the children thoroughly enjoyed which included making bath bombs, slime, fake snow and painting their very own magnet. The children spent time playing in slime, exploring the science discovery area, going outside digging for fossils and building in the sand. Finally, the children played in the imagination village and enjoyed pretending to be Vets, Chefs, Shop keepers, Firefighters, Movie stars, Builders, Hairdressers and many more!!
We finished the week off with a celebration as our excellent lunchtime behaviour was rewarded with us winning the platinum lunchbox!
