What a lovely and sunshine filled week we've had!
In English, we explored the poem 'A Tiny, Burning Flame' in more detail. The children each took a line from the poem and came up with an action to represent their line. We then performed the poem together as a class.
In Maths, we have started looking at mass, capacity and temperature. We have discussed the purpose of scales and when we might use them and we have explored grams and kilograms.
In Science, we completed an enquiry question; comparing the arctic with the desert. It was fantastic to see how much knowledge the children had remembered and brought to their answer.
In History, we completed an enquiry question on the Great Fire of London. The children have thoroughly enjoyed this topic and have shown so much enthusiasm throughout.
In Art, we completed our Great Fire of London collages in the style of Kurt Schwitters. The children showed so much creativity and skill, they should be so proud of the work they produced.
On Friday, the children went out into Standish to the Busy Bees gardens to complete their community project. They brushed up, collected litter and sprinkled seeds down to make the gardens clean, tidy and colourful. Well done Year 2 for volunteering your time to the community.
We would like to say a big well done to all the children for their hard work this term. We hope you all have a lovely Easter and we can't wait to see you on the first week back.
