We have certainly been blessed with sunshine for the final week of the Spring term. We have continued to observe our plants this week. Our cress all grew and some of our runner beans are beginning to peep through the soil too. We started the week with a trip to the forest where we found out about frogs. We were lucky to see some frogspawn in our pond. Mrs Grimshaw collected some so that we could look at it closely.
In Drawing Club we read, ‘The Enormous Turnip’. The children enjoyed joining in with the repeating phrases of the story and showed great imagination when creating their own adventures inspired by the story.
In Maths we have focussed on patterns. We have noticed patterns in the environment; created our own repeating patterns with actions and objects. We looked at different patterns on wrapping paper and designed a patterned wrapper for an Easter Egg.
We have had fun learning about each other’s Easter traditions and created lots of Easter crafts. We enjoyed making Easter nest cakes which we took to the forest to enjoy as part of our Easter egg hunt and picnic.
Have a lovely Easter break! 😊
